چکیده

Background It has been shown that blood oxygen level dependent (BOLD) cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) is able to detect myocardial perfusion differences. However, validation of BOLD CMR against myocardial perfusion reserve (MPR) and fractional flow reserve (FFR) is lacking. We sought to analyze the potential diagnostic accuracy of BOLD CMR in comparison to invasively measured FFR which served as the standard reference.

3 Tesla is the preferred field strength for perfusion imaging in coronary artery disease – a comparison to 1.5 Tesla and fractional flow reserve

Background Adenosine perfusion imaging at 1.5 Tesla (T) has been shown to yield good diagnostic values in comparison to quantitative coronary angiography. Perfusion imaging at 3 T has the potential benefit of higher contrastand signalto-noise ratios. However, little is known about diagnostic performance of 3 T perfusion imaging in comparison to 1.5 T and in comparison to invasive measurement of...

T2-prepared steady-state free-precession for detection of hemodynamic significance of coronary artery stenosis - a comparison to fractional flow reserve

Background BOLD CMR has been shown to be able to detect myocardial perfusion differences. However, validation of BOLD CMR against FFR is lacking. Aim of our study was to analyze the potential diagnostic accuracy of blood oxygen level-dependent (BOLD) cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) in comparison to invasively measured fractional flow reserve (FFR) which served as gold standard for a he...

Functional significance of Blood Oxygen Level Dependent (BOLD) imaging in patients with coronary artery disease - a validation study using fractional flow reserve

Background/purpose Blood oxygen level-dependent (BOLD) cardiac MRI (CMR) uses the signal generated by endogenous hemoglobin in the blood supply to directly measure tissue oxygenation. Therefore it may be useful as a non-contrast enhanced, non-invasive method to detect the presence of myocardial ischemia in patients suspected of having coronary artery disease (CAD). The aim of this study was to ...

Myocardial perfusion imaging based on the blood oxygen level-dependent effect using T2-prepared steady-state free-precession magnetic resonance imaging.

BACKGROUND The decision to perform coronary revascularization procedures may hinge on assessment of myocardial perfusion reserve. Blood oxygen level-dependent (BOLD) MRI is a potential method to detect the effects of regional variations in myocardial blood flow during vasodilation. METHODS AND RESULTS We imaged dogs (n=13) on a 1.5-T whole-body MRI scanner using a new T(2)-prepared steady-sta...

Cardiac magnetic resonance perfusion imaging for the functional assessment of coronary artery disease: a comparison with coronary angiography and fractional flow reserve.

AIMS Cardiac magnetic resonance perfusion imaging (CMRI) is a promising technique for non-invasive measurement of myocardial perfusion reserve. Fractional flow reserve (FFR) is an established invasive method for functional assessment of coronary artery disease (CAD). To prospectively assess the diagnostic value of CMRI for the detection of haemodynamically significant coronary lesions, compared...
